WeWork Names New Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer
NEW YORK, N.Y. – WeWork recently named
Aaron Huang as chief diversity and inclusion officer.
CEO, Sandeep Mathrani, created this new position in
attempts to strengthen WeWork’s already strong
diversity and inclusion efforts. Huang’s position is
effective immediately.
WeWork’s diversity and inclusion efforts are centered
around its community foundation. Employee
community groups, such as We of Color, Pride of We,
Women of We, Veterans at We and Parents at We,
offer diverse experiences within the workplace.
“Our employee community groups are key to our culture.
With Aaron Huang contributing his expertise, we can reach our goal of fostering a completely diverse and inclusive workplace that aligns with our mission and values,” Mathrani said.
Prior to joining WeWork, Huang held similar resources positions at Regus, WeWork’s main competitor in office rentals; Impact Hub, a series of community-based office settings locally owned by entrepreneurs; and Convene, a company offering more high-gloss office settings.
Huang has a bachelor’s degree in management from Yale University and an MBA in human resource management from Duke University with a specialization in workplace diversity.
Currently, Huang serves as a member of the Yale University President’s Diversity and Inclusion Commission and is a member of the board of directors of the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
